IRON / RUST WATER

Iron is one of the most plentiful resources in the earth’s crust. As it rains, iron dissolves into the water and can seep into aquifers. While not hazardous to your health, the taste and staining can serve as major inconveniences when it comes to cooking and cleaning. Dissolved iron can give off a metallic taste, and when mixed with beverages such as coffee or tea, the taste can be unbearable. Iron can also leave reddish brown staining on fixtures that can prove difficult to clean.
