HARD WATER

Hard water is water that has high mineral content. This happens when water filters through deposits such as limestone, chalk, or gypsum and leaves dissolved calcium and magnesium in the water. While hard water is not dangerous, it can be inconvenient. Soaps can react with the minerals in the water causing “soap scum” or white build-up which can make it difficult to keep things like hands, laundry, or dishes clean. Additionally, water pipes can gradually close resulting in lower water pressure.
